The Project: Marketing and Fundraising Support for Local Nonprofit

I love working with mission-driven organizations because the goals are clear – impact lives and make a difference. This is certainly the case for local nonprofit Louisville Regional Science & Engineering Fair. I helped them advance their mission to awaken and recognize STEM talent among our area’s youth with marketing and fundraising support.

Email & Social Media
With a 100% volunteer organization, it can be difficult to keep up with ongoing tasks such as monthly email newsletters and multiple social media accounts. I helped the Science Fair by managing these marketing tasks to keep the lines of communication open for Kentucky’s budding scientists. Plus, I set up a reporting dashboard to keep the volunteer board in the loop about the impact of our efforts.

Content Creation
It’s easy to find engaging content when working with over 300 of Kentucky’s brightest young minds! I put students at the center of our content development efforts, including student Q&As, highlight videos and social media takeovers.

Fundraising Campaign Development
Financial support is critical for any nonprofit organization – from big-name corporate donors to individual contributions, every bit counts. I helped the Science Fair create an annual campaign pitch, set up online donations, as well as recognize their donors and sponsors.

Results: An Engaging, Student-focused Organization

  • A 46% increase in funds raised during annual fundraising campaigns
  • Over 300 student participants each year and growing
  • A 68% increase in social media followers and email subscribers
